PSR Lighting and Signs Ltd are expanding their professional horizons into a more commonly known sector in the electrical industry. Domestic work can range from an added socket outlet, to a complete rewire of an existing building, Wiring of new build properties and full Initial Inspection and Testing as well as Periodic Condition Reporting of existing Installations. PSR Lighting and Signs Employ qualified and competent Electricians with vast experience with dealing with domestic properties, clients/customers and the inherent hurdles that this type of work can produce LoL.

PSR Understand that in a domestic property the key goal is to ensure the customer is happy with every aspect of the work. We know it is key to ensure all works carried out are neat, tidy and all mess made is cleaned and tidied before leaving the  property. PSR understand that client and contractor relationships are crucial in making it in the Domestic Industry.

Understandably in a Domestic Property there are issues to contend with, these include carpeted floors, furnished properties and little to no access into loft spaces. PSR Lighting and Signs Employ qualified and competent Electricians with vast  experience with dealing with commercial properties, clients/customers and the inherent hurdles that this type of work can produce.

PSR Understand that in commercial properties efficiency is key and interrupting the working day can impact on the finances of the core business and that is why PSR offer an out-of-hours mantra for all works that the client agrees requires to be complete in times of little/no trade, for both safety and cost efficiency. PSR is very much client focused and offering this service enforces this.

Understandably in a Commercial property there are issues to contend with, these include working within any clients SSoW (Safe Systems of Work) which may consist of RAMS (Risk Assessment and Method Statements), as well as working out-of-hours and working around machinery and workers in the property, communication and professionalism is key here.

This is why PSR employ Electricians that are capable and competent at conducting Risk assessments as well in interpreting generic RAMS that may be produced by the Client or PSR itself. Landlord Work

PSR Lighting and Signs Ltd offer a service to all landlords for the provision of carrying out Condition Reporting of existing installations, keeping an installation in good, safe working order is a requirement of the EAWR and BS7671:2011 as well as the Landlords and Tenants Act (1995). There are a number of situations in which this condition report needs to be carried out; change of occupant, a minimum of 10 years between reports and prior to selling properties. PSR are looking to work with a number of Estate agents to carry out this service for all rented properties.

PSR Employed Electrician have the professional ability to carry out these reports with agreement with the client/tenant as to the extent of the inspections to be made as well as any remedial works to be carried out. This includes; Consumer Unit Replacements/Upgrades to current IET wiring Regulations (BS7671:2011) and any remedial works required to bring the installation to a safe standard for continued use.

Electric Car Charging Points

PSR Lighting and Signs Ltd are expanding their professional horizons into a growing and ever more popular part of the electrical industry; Electric Car Charging Points. In an ever more efficient economy it is becoming more common practice for the general public to use electric cars. Therefore it is necessary for there to be readily available dedicated charging points for these vehicles. PSR are currently in the process of these works within the South East of England. The introduction of these pieces of equipment have required new legislation to be produces in the form of; IET Code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installations. This covers the installation, maintenance, testing and safe practices of Electric Vehicle Chargers.

PSR Electricians have knowledge of the above CoP and can install Charging units, providing that there is adequate provision for the installation these can be installed in most locations (advice from the DNO may be required as clusters of these installations can cause disruption to end users in neighboring installations).

All works are carried out to BS7671:2011 and the IET CoP for Electrical Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation. PSR are gaining knowledge of these installations and equipment as the market progresses to make them more readily available.

Training

PSR Lighting and Signs Ltd are committed to providing its workforce with the best training available, the HEA and LANTRA have joined to provide accredited training to the Highway Industry. The HEA recognize training from Industry accepted sources, such as IPAF, St Johns Ambulance/Red Cross (etc.), ALMI, City and Guilds, CITB, CPCS and many more. PSR have identified a gap in the Market for offering LANTRA training in the South East of England.

PSR Lighting and Signs Ltd are expanding from installation and client focus, into a more academic industry. PSR understand that in this day in age training is key, for both winning jobs as well as the safety of its staff. That is why PSR have decided to take the leap into delivering training. Over the coming months PSR will create Training center policies, procedures and documentation that will allow them to gain accreditation from the HEA and LANTRA to deliver courses that are tailored for the street lighting industry. These courses range from basic, entry level Health and Safety in the workplace, to Construction Design Management Awareness and Initial and Periodic Inspection and Testing of Highway Electrical Systems. PSR are not just planning on delivering training to the street lighting industry, it is also in the process of becoming an IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) Training Centre which will allow them to instruct in the safe use of 1b, 3a+3b Type machines (Static Boom, Scissor Lift* + Mobile Boom*). Being such a niche market, Trainers in the Street Lighting industry (HEA and LANTRA Approved Trainers) are few and far between and you can pay a premium for short notice courses and the convenience of the trainer travelling to your place of work. PSR will happily accommodate short notice courses (Agreement from the HEA would be required) as well as travelling to your place of work to carry out this training (Providing you have sufficient space and facilities for the trainer to offer the course in an effective manor). * – Training provided for future use – 3a and 3b will not be offered as a training course in the near future but we have the qualifications to train but not the environment.
